Ok so after reading a ton of posts both on here and on FB about what you could or couldn't bring to Lakewood, I called them this morning-They said: absolutely no backpacks, no blankets, no glass of any kind, no umbrellas, no cans, nothing flammable,(really? lol) no fireworks (aww darn) you CAN bring a plastic bottle full of water but before you go in the gate they will take the bottle and pour the water into a cup for you (awww how nice of them! *rolls eyes*)-which she said you could refill, but that they wont allow you to keep the bottles. She said last year they had problems with people setting shit on fire so this year they were going to be really strict. (fuckers lol)she did say women (I guess men can too? o_0)CAN bring a purse as long as it doesn't resemble a backpack, of course she made sure to stipulate that they would search you. Oh and you can bring like Advil or Tylenol as long as its in its original bottle. Camera policy same as anywhere else- no professional cameras or detachable lenses and no "recording devices" Cant wait till Sunday!!

If you've been to Ozzfest at Lakewood, you may understand why they have those rules lol Yeah it does take all the fun out of it not being able to set HUGE bonfires all over the lawn anymore, or bring your own alcohol, drugs, and weapons to the party, but it's for everyone's safety that and make sure that the place isn't burned to the ground lolI did get a little pissed when I went to Family Values one year, I wanna say 07, and they wouldn't let us pit at all! Much less let a group of kids play hacky sac, come on, really IT'S FUCKING HACKY SAC! They even deflated a beach ball.... Lame shit, but as long as the pit is open for brutality and mayhem, I don't give a damn lol

Yea I get the whole safety and not setting fire to shit part- but the no backpacks and the not letting you keep your own water bottle to refill and them pouring it into a cup part... Yea.. not so much. But hey whatever you know I am not going to let it ruin my day I am just glad I called and didn't show up with one and have to go back or some shit o_0

about the water, just don;t get rid of your cup if you bring water at the gate. Last year, at lakewood, we just asked the concessions for plain ice, then fill the water at fountains. if you can stand city water, it's a lot cheaper.

I went to Lakewood for Mayhem in '08 and yeah the backpack thing does suck, but at one of the tents (Roadrunner, maybe?) they were giving out bags that had stickers and other promo shit in them. Grab one of those to put your merch and other stuff in (they were big enough to hold posters). Another thing about Lakewood, once you get close to the gate, there's separate lines for men & women to go through security. So we bypassed about 100 guys and got in way earlier!

i wonder if they'd ever think about moving the venue to verizon wireless amphitheater someday...

I am going to attempt to sneak a flask in. Last year the pat down wasn't very thorough so I am going to try and get a flask of some crown in. If they make me pour it out at the gate I will pour it out alright down my throat lol. Can't wait hope to see some of you guys there.
